Update from Notts County Councillor Mike Robertson:
- Additional funding has been made available in the new NCC Budget for re-surfacing and filling potholes around the County. This is an additional £180 million which should lead to earlier delivery for projects originally been earmarked for 2028, which could mean improvements to the Bawtry/Gainsborough stretch of the A631.
- Household Waste Recycling has also been under review, including looking at an alternative site for Retford.
- Discretionary Funding for Transport to Faith Schools is under review.
- There is still some Local Community Grant Funding available to support Community Ventures. Please contact Cllr Robertson if you wish to access it, at cllr.mike.robertson@nottscc.gov.uk.
- The following projects are being supported:
- A631 Pedestrian Crossing
- Everton Primary School Hall – EPS pupils have been invited to County Hall to “make their case”!
- Planters for the village
- Increased road safety proposals including local speed restrictions
A recent survey has been carried out via the Village Facebook Page to identify the strength of local support for a 20mph limit in parts of Everton Village. This survey will be widened. Please make your views known.
Removal of the large hedgerow on Roe Lane is of concern, and the Council will follow this up with Bassetlaw District Council. Such destruction is clearly contrary to the Objectives of the Everton Village Neighbourhood Plan (EVNP), re-iterated in the current update.
The EVNP Update has been drafted and is currently with members of the Parish Council for their comments before being widely distributed as part of the Consultation Process. Expect more news in October.
