Update from Notts County Councillor Mike Robertson:

- Details of additional funding for Highways is being discussed this month and it may result in accelerated progress in addressing pothole issues in and around Everton.
- The Proposal for a School Hall is under discussion. Everton Primary School students will make a presentation to councillors, outlining the case, at County Hall, with a teacher and some parents.
- Discussions on a proposal to install a pedestrian crossing on A631 are still on-going.
- VIA will visit to look at white-lining requests in the village.
TWENTY IS PLENTY: A meeting is arranged at The Village Hall on 18th June 2026 from 6 – 7.30 pm, to host a community briefing on this initiative. It will provide an overview of the proposal and present the findings from the recent Facebook survey. There will be a petition available for signature for those who were unable to participate in the survey, should they wish to register their support. Subject to there being no significant objections raised, the application will be made to NCC to apply a speed limit in identified areas of the village.
The Updated Everton Village Neighbourhood Plan: the first draft has been prepared and is being reviewed by Parish Councillors. The aim is to resume the consultation process in Autumn.
The Village Hall refurbishment is almost complete. Extensive redecoration as well as the physical changes have created a fresh meeting place for the village. Those attending events there are requested to park their cars away from the Hall. The new carpark on High Street is available for parking, with only a minute’s walk to the Hall.
A Big Thankyou was given to those who supported The Metcalfe Trust’s application for improved playground facilities on High Street. These messages of support have helped the grant application.
